GOP debate before Florida

Last nights GOP presidential debate from the University of Miami was a welcomed turn of events, with the four remaining candidates maintaining relatively civil their political rhetoric.  After many months of ever intensifying personal attacks reaching dumfounding low levels, the candidates finally hit a conciliatory tone of sorts.
Outstanding was Senator Marco Rubio, who is fighting valiantly towards a Florida win.  Rubio is an accomplish orator, and demonstrated knowledge towards a vast array of issues, and delivered his proposals in a clear and cons iced manner. Las night we saw the old Marco Rubio. Recently he had dived off the cliff to disappointing numbers after his kamikaze attacks on Trump.  The badly lost contests put him once more on a more presidential track.  Now all he must do to survive, is to win his own state of Florida; a task of herculean proportions.  If not, he is pretty much out.
Ohio Governor John Kasich too did well.  Kasich tends to lean towards he center, and comes up with valid answers to the many issues facing the country.  Always affirming how he is the adult in the room.  The problem with Kasich is that his campaign has not taken off.  He is vying to win his state of Ohio, and if he doesn’t, it’s all over for him.  Quietly, he’s probably wishing the often mentioned “brokered convention”, becomes a reality.  A question he effectively dodged last night.
Senator Ted Cruz just doesn’t come across sincere.  He was the only candidate who maintained an constant attack on Trump, albeit not as aggressive.  Cruz begged the country to join his campaign, stating he’s the only candidate capable of beating Hillary Clinton on the Democratic side.  He sounds off his many policies, but they never resonate as honest.  Always coming across as memorized sound bites.
The leading GOP contender, business magnate Donald Trump, just doesn’t come across as knowing or having any grasp on the issues.  He toned down his rhetoric, but just has no policies to discuss.
By far, the most effective Republican presidential candidate on the University of Miami stage last night was Sen. Marco Rubio. He came across presidential, demonstrated excellent speaking ability, and came across well versed in issues and policy.  Now we all wait and see what happens next Tuesday in Florida.
